Biography

Adil Ghani is a Malaysian ceramic artist and founder of RAAQUU, a practice centred on the contemporary interpretation of raku ceramics. With more than two decades of experience, his work demonstrates a deep technical understanding of firing processes, surface reactions and material transformation. Educated at Universiti Teknologi MARA, Ghani investigates the unpredictability inherent within raku firing, where heat, smoke and combustion generate distinctive metallic and iridescent surfaces. His ceramic practice balances technical precision with spontaneity, producing vessels and sculptural objects characterised by layered textures and atmospheric finishes. Through RAAQUU, Ghani has contributed to expanding the visibility of raku ceramics within contemporary collectable design, positioning the medium beyond functionality and towards material authorship and cultural expression.
