Anila Ashraf
Dubai-based ceramic artist whose practice, Latakhaf (“do not be afraid”), is rooted in wheel throwing, altered forms and experimental firings such as Raku and Obvara. Her collections have been shown at SIKKA Art Fair, and she is an active ceramics educator across the UAE, having taught and mentored hundreds of students in Sharjah and Dubai.
Embedded Whispers
Porcelain vessels pressed into raw, textured clay slabs. The slabs resemble eroded terrain, while the vessels appear partly uncovered, as if time has revealed them. The contrast between smooth, fragile forms and fractured surfaces speaks to resilience within vulnerability: strength is not found in perfection but in what endures. This series invites viewers to consider how objects, like people, carry the traces of their histories, and how silence itself can hold memory.
