Dana Kamal is a Dubai-based self-taught ceramic artist working primarily with unglazed black and white porcelain. Her sculptural practice draws inspiration from flowers, fungi, and coral, often blurring the boundaries between these natural forms through subtle abstraction. By limiting her palette, she emphasises texture, structure, shadow, and the inherent beauty of porcelain. Her works are frequently paired with driftwood, cork bark, and weathered tree trunks, creating striking dialogues between ceramic and nature. What Remains explores renewal through the cycle of destruction and regeneration. Crafted in black porcelain, sculptural blooms and fungi emerge from charred, black-stained branches and tree trunks, creating a dreamlike landscape where life quietly persists after devastation.
