Meet Jonathan Silva

Director and Managing Director

Jonathan Silva was born in Brazil and raised in Portugal, where early exposure to a rich tradition of craftsmanship shaped a deep appreciation for handmade art and its cultural significance.

With a professional background in Finance and Marketing, Jonathan brings a rare combination of creative vision and business intelligence to the art world. This distinctive approach led him to co-found Double J Collective Gallery in Dubai in 2023, alongside Jorge Cerveira Pinto, the name uniting both founders at its core.

The gallery was born from a clear observation: Dubai had no space entirely dedicated to fine craft. Double J Collective was created to fill that absence, presenting collectable works that sit at the intersection of art, craft, and contemporary design.

Since its founding, the gallery has introduced new artistic voices to the Dubai scene, from wearable art to landmark cultural partnerships with Korea, while actively championing Emirati artists whose work deserves a platform equal to its quality.

For Jonathan, a gallery is not simply a commercial space. It is a place where authorship is respected, cultural dialogue is possible, and craft is understood as a serious and relevant artistic practice.
