Toma Gabor
Romanian sculptor raised in Transylvania, with a doctorate in Fine Art from the Western University of Timişoara (2015). Based in Dubai since 2003, he works in clay and stone, in dialogue between Eastern European sculptural tradition and the contemporary Arab world. Since 2017 he has served as Assistant Professor of Visual Art and Sculpture in the UAE.
Senses
A ceramic installation featuring four oversized human facial details: eye, nose, ear and mouth. Senses explores the ephemerality of human existence, illustrating how our organs, once vital receptors, eventually return to nature as matter beyond their original function.
